OMG, grovelling works!

I'm currently sorta looking for a job (I'm an at-home mom who would like some extra $). Last Sunday, I saw two want-ads that looked promising (out of thousands of ads... sheesh). I emailed a resume off to one of them last week, and hadn't heard anything as of this morning. So I sent a follow-up email, basically saying "hope you got my resume, yadda yadda, if you have any questions or would like to set up an interview, please call" and I just now got a response: "We did get your resume and would like to discuss with you further about the job. Please call tomorrow at 11." !!! :bounce: I'm thrilled! Yippiee!!! By all means, nothing's wrapped up, but I'm just excited that I got a positive response. If I hadn't emailed her, who knows if they'd have contacted me?

Selling yourself is like any other kind of selling. First you have to get their attention. Also, the resume and interview are a way to weed out applicants, not get them in. they look for reasons to eliminate candidates and the last one left standing is the hiree.

I looked up the company online (was not mentioned in the ad, but I had an email addy, so I googled it). It looks like something right up my alley; so, I'm pretty psyched! Between that and my insurance drug test tomorrow, I've got a rather busy day going on!
