OK, so I'm driving to work this morning when all of a sudden, I hear a "clunk" from my undercarriage. Next thing I know, the car's running very loudly.
"Shit," I muttered. "Fuckin' muffler must've let go."
But when I'm about a half-mile from work, the whole car starts vibrating like a rock crusher. Deciding a bad muffler wouldn't be causing that, I pull over and get out of the car. Well, it wasn't the muffler. Instead, my left rear tire had blown out. Kinda looked like shredded wheat now.
Since I'm so close to my workplace, I decide to risk driving the car there, albeit very, very slowly. When I get to work, I give AAA a call to get my spare thrown on. To their credit, help arrives within ten minutes.
But the guy can't get the wheel off the car. It's the original one from 1987 and has rusted on! He tries and tries for a good half-hour to jostle that goddamned wheel loose, but the wheel's having one of it! So, he offers to take it to the garage and have them do it there.
They finally got the wheel off and were able to throw on my spare. Now all I have to do is figure out how the hell I'm going to get across town to pick the fucking car up! :grr:
As soon as I get home later, I'm taking a well-deserved nap! :boring:
