Christianity co-opted the legends and turned him into the Dragon demon Astaroth (must have Americanized the name to Astarobb), or Robb, as he is affectionately known around here.

So, yes, Robb is a real, living ancient demon who dwells among us and shows himself from time to time as an answer to polls.

I believe he'll be featured in Anne Rice's next novel...
