3. When will he be hard up enough |
|
to get back together with Andy and Stewart.
Of course, they may not be strong enough to redeem him.

I guess Pete Townsend got it right, around the time Neil Young wrote "This Note's For You" as a slap at Clapton doing Michelob commercials. Townsend said something like, "It's my song, I'll do what the f*ck I want with it."
I'm just happy that no Police songs have been used. Yet. I think.

5. The Police were so damned political |
|
And left-wing, too, I might add.
After solo Sting, the music started sucking, and any serious statements by Sting had long since vanished into the world of corporate media-whoredom...

6. I remember reading some years ago where he said he'd quit before |
|
he got as old as Mick Jagger...now bear in mind this was at least 15 years ago when Mick was only 73 years old ;). If I remember correctly he was quite derisive of how dear old Mick looked prancing around on stage...Which leads me to ask why Stin' continues to find it necessary to take his shirt off when he performs?? To give the biddies in the crowd yet more hot flashes?? :eyes:
I remember when he was good...In the Police...Most of his solo stuff is just self-serving, self-important bollocks...
The dude's ego is just huuuuuuuuuuuuuge...
What a wanker....

The only question is when does he become a permanent lounge act in Vegas in the Tom Jones mode??

..the REAL proof of a musicians whoredom is when they are battling it out for an Oscar statue...

15. See, that's my thing... I don't like his music anymore |
|
It all sounds like it's getting ready to be marketed to commercials on the fasttrack. I hear a song from the new album and think, yeah, the guy was thinking of a Jag commercial when he wrote that one.
And I speak of someone who loved Sting's work, and who has a special place in her heart for Soul Cages.

16. that's one of the things I admire about Springsteen . . . |
|
despite countless offers, he has never lent his music to commercial purposes . . . the Beatles wouldn't either, but their songs started getting used after MJ outbid McCartney for their catalog . . .
