tonight I attended the ordination of my best friend . . . |
|
of 35 years as an Episcopal priest . . . the presiding bishop was an old friend of ours from our college days who happens to be African-American . . . when he got up to give the sermon, he commenced to preaching in a manner that absolutely captivated even us heathens in the audience . . . inspirational, contemplative, absolutely hysterical in places, it was a performance no one who was there will ever forget . . . as he said, "I'm giving you some good stuff tonight, people!" . . . as was he ever! . . . so I just want to take a moment to congratulate my dear friend Father Bruce, and our mutual friend Bishop Michael, and to thank them both for an incredible and uplifting experience that still has me tingling inside . . .

One of my best friends was ordained as a minister in the Lutheran church (I hope I have the title right), and I was so proud of her for it. I can really understand how incredibly moving that must have been for you. :-)

In another 5 years I'll be in that same boat (except a Lutheran Pastor). I can hardly wait. I've only been to one ordination and it was amazing. Peace, Chris
