So, I'm on antibiotics - never used em before |
|
Any chance that like, it could fix some other medical problem I didn't know I had? Like, maybe that pain in the arm I thought was a bruised ligament is really an infection or something?

1. you never know. However if you have not taken antibiotics much in your life |
|
(because I bet you had the pink bubble gum stuff when you were little and don't remember)
these meds should kick the stuffings out of whatever you have going on now. What med are you taking and why, if you care to share, other wise just get better soon.
It depends on why you are taking them now and what your latent/chronic problems are. Pain in shoulder is most likely not an infection because if it WERE you would have localized fever, redness and swelling there and been very very sick much sooner.
HOWEVER if you are also receiving a temporary dose of some sort of low dose steroid, like say Prednisone or a Medrol Dose Pak for say a lung inflammation, that will kick ass on the shoulder.
I had a minor foot surgery several yrs ago and the doc shot it full of a long acting steroid to help heal it. Every achy bone and joint in my body was pain free for a week!!! It was so nice.

4. In your entire life, you've *never* taken antibiotics, but the first time you do it's for a haircut? |

No major flus, no major colds, no ear infections, no eye infections, never stepped on rusty nails or gotten slashed in the face by rampaging polar bears... nothing that you'd need antibiotics for in all your 30+ years until now.
You, sir, live a charmed life.

3. Don't drink alcohol while taking them |
|
Alcohol makes your body flush them out faster destroying the effectiveness.

17. Don't know what secondary effects there could be but make sure |
|
you take all your antibiotics (don't stop just because you feel better - that is how superbugs get created).
