Mine:
First: Metallica at the San Diego Sports Arena during the black album tour. A good show since it was before they really began to suck and their setlists started being diluted with the kind of junk they've been writing for the last 20 years. I went with my older sister, and as a fourteen year-old punk kid surrounded by a bunch of crazed, drunken metalheads, I recall being a bit intimidated.

Last: Gogol Bordello at the Mayan in Los Angeles. Quite possibly the best live band I've ever seen. Highly recommended.

I saw them at the Greek in LA about five years ago during the Bloodflowers tour, which was awesome since they were playing most of the "trilogy" of Pornography, Disentegration and Bloodflowers followed by a strong 5 or 6 song encore, but I have to say I haven't been too impressed by their last album or what I've heard from this new one.

this is the third time i've seen them (also saw them on their two previous tours) and this was, by far, the best show i've ever seen them do. their last encore was all from boys don't cry...including 'killing an arab'

i saw them at red rocks and i think that is part of what made the show so amazing

i have also had the displeasure in seeing soundgarden break up at a show in the aloha bowl in 96 or 97...i was pissed too...i had waited 10 years to see them...

I think the first was David Lee Roth. I was 11 or 12, and I won a "sing like David Lee Roth" radio show call in contest. That was in '90 or '91.

I don't know for sure what the last was.... I go to see concerts almost every week, but they're usually classical music, with different groups/perfomers/composers, so I don't know how to even mention them. I saw Gowns play last year, and they completely blew my mind - they've got to be just about the greatest rock band around at the moment. I also recently saw Fred Frith, if that counts. It was more of a rock oriented thing than he's been doing for the last several years, but it wasn't very good - nothing like Henry Cow or Massacre (his two excellent rock bands).

Technically speaking, it would be a couple of Boston bands that played at the local fairgrounds during the annual fair in 1982. The Jon Butcher Axis (a hard rock band that released a couple of major label albums) and The Fools (a goofy bar band with a big following), plus some others I've since forgotten.

The first "real" concert was Rush at the Worcester Centrum (now the DCU Center) on the Signals tour. Rory Gallagher opened.

I can remember a few shows that I missed (Snow Patrol, The Cure, Pogues) this year, but I think the last concert was, and I kid you not, Reba McEntire. My wife loves Reba, so she talked my brother into scoring some tickets to her show at Meadowbrook Pavilion last summer. Not my thing, but Mrs. BlueDog was happy, and that's what counted.

That Maiden show might be my last. I really don't enjoy seeing live music anymore.

I was a young child, and my parents took me. I got a funny feeling from all that funny smelling smoke in the air. :hippie: :smoke:

the local college (U of Maine at Farmington) booked out of Boston to play for their Earth Day festivities in the Spring of '72. They rocked out hard on the tennis court between the Scott South and Scott North dorms for an afternoon crowd of maybe 500 students, faculty, employees, and twelve year old me. Next January their first album, Aerosmith, was released.

The last great one I saw was Marva Wright at Club Coco on Bourbon Street a couples weeks ago. She was pretty hot too!

122. Hard to say

Depends how you define 'concert,' I guess, because I saw a lot of different people sing at various venues when I was a kid (Ivan Rebroff, the German Russian singer, a bunch of other world-folk types, various unknown singers in parks and other free venues, performers at record-industry events and the like, etc, etc, etc). Similarly, here in Las Vegas I see a lot of performers who work casino lounges, many of them extremely talented. The last stadium show I saw was Paul McCartney, in late 2005, and I saw The Knack play here a while back in a smaller showroom.
