Who are our three Presidents under whom the economy IMPROVED the most?
Who are our three Presidents under whom the economy TANKED the most?
What do the first three have in common that the second three do not?
I'll give my answer after a few replies. I am curious if any of you see what I see. :)

Please list your 3 choices. That may help.

Picture Clinton and FDR in your mind.
Picture Hoover, Bush II, and Raygun in your mind.

Kennedy, Johnson, and Clinton for the first three.
Hoover, Bush, and Mini-Bush for the second part. Although the Reagan recession of 1982 was the worst since the Depression. Let's just say all 4.
Although I should list Van Buren as also presiding over the worst economy until the 1930's.
The first three have in common a love for home-delivered donuts, if I recall my history. :-)
More edits: The 1960's brought us the greatest economic expansion until the 90's. In fariness, Eisenhower benefitted from a booming post-war recovery from the recession of the late 40's, and Carter inherited the dismal GOP economy of the 70's. So there were two exceptions to the rule there, in terms of which party presided over which kind of economy.

FDR has to be an "improvement" President, top three, for sure, of course.
See it?
The fatter the President, the better the economy does!!
Skinny men in office make everyone poorer!!!
I love it!! :D :D :D :D :D
