These were "golf ball size" hail
One always hear about that, but when they come fast and furious on one's back yard, and you hear them on the roof and on the walls and on the chimney..

The poor bunny was running for dear life. I was hoping that the chipmunk was hiding safe and sound. A direct hit could kill it. Small branches are scattered all over. Not much rain, really, only those hail. And even an hour later - they were still on the ground.

Last Memorial Day weekend it was dreary and cold. I can't decide what is worse: a 60 degrees cold cloudy day in May, or wilting at 94 degrees in Laguna Beach, without even a breeze, a few days earlier.

Oh well...

1. My dear question everything...
Golf ball size hail?

Yikes...:scared:

I'll take the heat anytime...

Better to wilt than to be crashed into, I say!

Hope your creatures survived...

:hi:

2. I was in the Metrodome when the storms came through
Could easily hear it above the crowd for a while there. Thunder, too.

3. "golf ball sized hail" is bad, but nothing compared to a tornado threat or hit.
I seriously do not wish or intend to discount your experience. It's pretty scary to have such a storm, including hail.

I live in the midwest, and over my many years I have experienced not only hail damage to my car, but also several trees all over my yard. after a storm. And worse.

We get so many storm and tornado warnings that I never took them very seriously. However, when my son was young I used to prepare the basement with a radio, a cooler of soft drinks, food, shoes, smokes, and other essentials, just in case.

Thank God. One night, it got so bad that the house and windows started to rattle. My son was in his PJ's, and I raced across the house and grabbed him by the seat of his pants and practically threw him down the basement stairs. I thought the house was going to turn into toothpicks within seconds, and wanted to get that door to the basement closed immediately!

I scared my poor son half to death, I'm sorry to say. He thought I was trying to throw him down the basement steps. I had the back of his pants, carried him all the way down the steps, and he was not hurt. But he was sure upset about it.

Turns out the my house survived, but my garage landed in my driveway. And a 100 year old tree by the garage came completely up by it's roots.

Gawd, that is some pretty powerful pressure.

I hope that you did not plant a fear of storm in your son...
