What happens when a gas attendant puts more gas in your tank than you asked for? |
|
And you don't have enough cash to pay what was put in.
No credit cards either.
Are you liable to pay when you don't have enough cash?

they cant really take it back, but the employee did make a mistake.
I do not have any idea what the law says about this, if anything at all. Maybe leave some collateral and come back with more cash to pay the difference?
I do not know. Sorry.

to pump your own gas.
The gas attendants must have a powerful lobby.

Especially with these prices plus the premium to cover their wage, I think if one of them stood around with his hand out he'd be more likely to receive a punch in the nose.

They just pump the gas. You can check your own oil , clean your own windshield.

29. Extra state taxes, I think |
|
Washington is one of the states without an income tax so we tend to make up for it by taxing everything else.

31. and since Oregon has no state sales tax, but WA and CA do |
|
the price before taxes in WA and CA might in fact be lower than in Oregon.
AFAIK, CA applies BOTH a states sales tax AND a state gas tax to gas sales.

I mean I'm not allowed to up-size people's beverage at work without asking and then charge them more for the larger size. I would think the words "put $6 in." is an enforceable verbal contract for exchange of goods. He can put $25 in if he wants...I'm only giving his ass $6 for it.

I prefer self-serve, however I get my gas in NJ whenever driving that way because it's fifteen to twenty cents less a gallon than it is here in PA.

Gasoline in NJ tends to be cheaper than NY state too. So much for saving money by doing it yourself, which was the original pitch for self-serve. Someone's saving money but it's not the consumer.
AAA average estimate by state as of today (www.fuelgauge.com) has NJ @ $3.87 per gallon for regular, PA @ $3.98, and NY @ 4.17. Oregon is at $4.10, WA $4.15 and CA $4.25
