I swear, I am going to commit murder (j/k!) |
|
I known how Agent Mike wants to make sure we're not serious.
However, I DO know one person who certainly would change my mind if I ever decided to take up a new profession!
Is there anyone who DOESN'T want to kill Billy Mays? His voice goes right through me. And those freaking commercials are as loud as the FCC will allow them to be. They're not only grating, but I made a resolution some years ago that I would NOT buy any product that he advertises!
So, how many accomplices do I have with this justifiable homicide?

2. MG Jr. calls him "the scary guy" |

I still don't see the sense in putting his ads on kids' networks like Nick. Moms aren't paying attention, and he frightens small children.

5. He definitely scares me! |

Once, a long time ago, it had to have been just after he got on the airwaves, I went into my kitchen and turned the TV up a bit louder because I was watching something and didn't want to miss the show I was watching. And then the damned commercial came on, and I must have jumped right out of my skin--I thought someone had broken in. I wish there was some way to turn down the sound just when commercials come on, but I learned that the companies don't turn themselves "up" as much as they use the highest volume within the range that you are listening at. Most TV shows don't use that high volume that you might have the TV at, because for regular TV, a lot of it is mood.
However, with the advent of reality TV, that seems to have changed somewhat. There are reasons I now play the shows down low and often watch closed captioning for that very reason!

3. His voice is horrible enough, but... |

...those little pushy hand gestures he continually makes (no doubt because it supposedly makes the viewer reflexively reach out to take the goods, thereby making them more likely to buy, or somesuch psychobabble crap) drive me around the bend. Stop shoving the product at the camera, dipshit, its not a 3D movie!
