i have found the most undrinkable beer ever

my roommate, bless his heart, bought a six pack of wild blue blueberry lager because the box looked cool but didn't really pay attention to what he was buying.

last night i was in the mood for a beer, and despite the fact that he said it wasn't that great, i, bless my heart, decided to give it a shot.

worst. idea. ever.

i popped the cap off the bottle and immediately felt like i'd been hit in the face with a five-pound box of blueberries. undeterred by the smell, i take a sip and it tasted like they just bottled this guy's bathwater:

it was cloyingly and overwhelmingly sweet. i was only able to tolerate half a bottle before i gave up on a beer that tasted like a blueberry italian soda with about four times the reasonable amount of syrup and half the amount of carbonation :puke:

we still have a couple of these in the fridge and i haven't the foggiest idea what the hell we're going to do with them...

1. I had the opposite experience last week -- loved a beer I wouldn't have tried
I was out with some friends, and one suggested a pitcher of summer wheat beer, something I had never tried. I tend to like dark beers, so the very idea seemed disgusting.

But it was delicious!

4. wheat beers are my favorite
one of the breweries in my town makes a pomegranate wheat beer...it's nice and light with just a hint of fruit and tang. i guess i was expecting something more along those lines when i decided to try this beer.

i'm glad you enjoyed the brew

5. Yeah, I tend to like the wheat beers a lot, especially the Belgian-style "white" ones.
Blue Moon is a good, readily available one - I know it's made by Coors and all, but I think it's delicious.

I prefer the porters.

But as far as wheat beers go, my favorite is St. Augustine from Houston Tx.

58. How dare you criticize "the Beast"!
Edited on Wed Jun-04-08 08:50 AM by driver8
When I was in college, I did an internship in Washington, DC. Most of the interns were poor college students so "Milwaukee's Best" became our beer of choice for our parties. We would load up a bathtub with ice, get a few cases of "the Beast", and the party was on!

If you got it cold enough and poured it into a glass, you hardly noticed that it tasted like shit!

11. I can top it.
Friday, I drank the unholy melange of Budweiser and Clamato. It came premixed in the same can.

I know what you're thinking: "why, Hedges, that sounds awful."

It tastes worse than you could possibly imagine.

This is not hyperbole, this is an actualy comparison -- it tastes like vomit. That's not my way of saying "it sucks" -- no, it actually tastes very much like human vomit. I can still taste the shit.

67. It's not bad enough someone made a drink from CLAMS ?
Then they added tomatoes and said, "Hell, this isn't stinky enough, let's add some beer!"

It sounds like they had a lot of unsold fluids sitting around and just put them in one bottle to simplify inventory. Sort of like toxic waste.

44. That sounds FOUL. I'm sorry you had to endure it but...
It isn't the WORST beer ever. It CAN'T be.

That title must be reserved, for all time, for "Crazy Ed's Cave Creek Chili Beer."

The picture above is accurate. Each bottle contains an honest to goodness chili pepper that suffuses the mediocre 12 oz. of micro brewed beer and turns the entire vile concoction into deadly burning POISON. One person MIGHT finish a single bottle with only an evening of miserable burning lips, tongue, gums and throat-basically the entire gastrointestinal tract to show for it but no human could drink an entire six pack without a trip to the nearest E.R.

It's like drinking concentrated habanero juice. Think of the movie Alien and the face-hugger's molecular acid blood racing through deck after deck of the Nostromo. I'd say it's the beer from Hell but Satan himself winces at the memory of it's taste and refuses shipment.

And those aren't habaneros. I think they're serranos, actually.

You gotta watch the expiration date on that beer though. it definitely does NOT keep well for a long period of time. You get an old bottle and it goes flat, it's like drinking pickle juice. :puke:
