The Zombie Survival Guide
As an avowed and lifelong nerd, I'm required to have a zombie survival plan. Naturally, this book practically leaped off the shelf at me in the bookstore:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Zombie_Survival_Guide

I'd really recommend it to anyone who likes zombie movies. Surprisingly, the book isn't comedic at all-- except in the sense that the author writes of the threat very seriously.

He also wrote a book called World War Z (set in the aftermath of a world wide zombie outbreak). I picked it up last week after reading the survival guide, and finished it two days later. I loved it-- the guy can write.

1. Dude. There is only one place to go in a zombie attack.
Wal-Mart. Not a lot of windows, food, and most importantly, guns.

2. He talks about good hold-out sites at length-- it's awesome.
Most of the big box stores rank pretty low because of their glass doors, large windows, ... and the fact that they'll be targets for human looters. But if you've got one with no windows, you're doing good.

Ideal choices are oil platforms, old-style prisons... and certain types of schools. Haha. :D

4. World War Z is awesome
I guess they're making a movie out of it. Personally I think it would work better as a serialized Tv show, but whatever.

BTW, if you like Zombie lit you should definitely check out Robert Kirkman's Walking Dead comic book.

Brilliant.

5. Ha- I've got a stack of the compilations right here.
I'm only the third one, but it's excellent. It'd make a great SciFi TV series.

6. Oddly, while reading it, I found myself disagreeing with some points...
...as if it mattered.

8. I have the Zombie Survival Guide day calendar. It rules.
Haven't gotten around to reading the book yet, though.
