3. Exactly.
Who cares if it's not authentic Italian food. The food is still good. That's all that matters.

6. I really like going to the Olive Garden, actually...
I usually get the unlimited soup, salad, and bread sticks. I prefer the Zuppa Toscana... I could eat that stuff every. Single. Day. :9

10. Me likey breadsticks! Me likey breadsticks!
And their Zupa Tuscana is pretty good too.

All in all, it's really not that bad a place to go if you want decent (albiet not great) Italian food at a decent price.

11. I confess - I love their salads, bread sticks
and chicken marsala -- :)

After Katrina and the salavation army and red cross meal trucks for months, it was a treat to go to the Olive Garden in Mobile to enjoy a meal and some of their wine.

Comfort food indeed.

12. It's our usual fancy expensive night out place
We can only afford to go every so often. And it's usually where we go for birthdays and anniversaries. (Yes, the main thing that bothers me about the Olive Garden flame wars is the classism.)

I love the breadsticks and the linguini with marinara sauce.

13. my disdain for Olive Garden is not about class, it's because I'm Italian
and they had for quite a while this cheesy commercial with a stereotypical Italian family going to Olive Garden and acting, well, however it is Italians act.

all that aside, I like going to Olive Garden and like their food okay, but it's not my grandmother's. :hi:

17. that soup, salad and bread deal for less than $6 for lunch
can't be beat.

Plus, my kid eats two plates of salad when I take her

It is no Rocco Ristorante http://www.roccoristorante.com/side_frame_rocco.htm but it will do when I can't get there....

BTW - I ate at Rocco twice a week for 18 years - I miss it terribly.

18. The Olive Garden really helps me appreciate good food.
A bland dish at the Olive Garden really gives me a better appreciation of food that actually has flavor.

19. There's a local knock off restaurant called
"The Olive Branch," which is great, but I never went to the Olive Garden. So, I don't have an opinion about it.
