Do you still have your class ring from high school? If so, do you ever wear it?

2. I don't think I still have it.
I looked in my storage this past weekend hoping it would be in there and I couldn't find it. x( I haven't seen it in about four years now.

3. I do indeed still have it.
Granted, I've only had it for 8 years, but I still have it. I keep it in the same box I got it in, and I keep the box in the top drawer of my dresser.

I wore it all through my senior year of high school, and I haven't worn it since. It had a good run!

4. No, sold it for scrap years ago to buy groceries, back in the days
when I was a single mom, two kids, student, broke as shit all the time...I think I got something like $18 bucks for it, in about 1981 or so; at that time, it got me a couple bags of groceries, carefully purchased with a ton of coupons, and probably a pack of smokes or two to boot (food for kids, nicotine for me *lol*)

7. My dear Brigid!
Yes, I still have mine, but I have never worn it...

It wouldn't fit now...

And I have no interest in wearing it!

Still, I am glad I have it...

:hi:

Nor would I have wanted any kind of reminder of my high school experience.

10. I wasn't gonna spend several hundred bucks that I didn't have
for a piece of gaudy jewelry that I didn't like that reminded me of a school that completely failed me.

15. The very cheapest possible option
would have been right around a hundred, if I recall correctly. And the fanciest went up to 500ish.

And this was in 2000, before inflation hit big time.

22. let me guess: you have to go to a jewelry store to buy them?
Back in the day LOL the ring guy came to your school. Your school had one ring choice, but you could choose the ring mold for casting..so ours came in miniature, women's regular, men's regular and large. This was roughly to determine the diameter of the ring if viewing from the top. Most of the girls ordered the miniature, which was still a good sized heavy ring.

Then you could choose the stone you wanted and the way you wanted the stone cut. Mine is an aquamarine and it is a very blue one (I got lucky, some of the aquamarine ones were rather pallid looking) We could also choose white gold if we wished.

Our ring was designed by representatives from each class at the beginning of the school year when our school opened..we were consolidating 4 schools into one, so this was the class ring for about the next 10 years.

Used to be there were 2 major companies...Balfour and Jostens who sold rings, invitations, etc. to all the schools.

when the era of the rings don't have to look alike and the jewelry stores got involved, the prices shot up.

17. Yes. No.
I had it on my key ring for a while, but that turned out to be stupid because it broke. I'll never wear it again, but still I want to have it fixed.

19. Yes, and I would if my finger were not so chubby.
Our class rings were not your typical class ring. They are lapis signet rings with the school crest on them.

21. Yes and No....
I tried it on a while back and though I could still get it on my finger, it was a little too tight.

I wore it my senior year of HS, then never again. Waste of money, that was.
