1. I feel for you, though I live in a dry heat (california)
I'm always told a dry heat is better than humidity--
regardless, I hate the heat!!!

Maybe it's just a little blip and won't last long.
A few weeks ago, it was in the hundreds around here.
ARGH!!!!! But only for a few days...

6. it ws 95 degrees at 10:30 am. Supposed to hit 99 today
It was so nice when I left the house at 8:30 though. I really wanted to stay home and work in my yard. Oh well.

on the bright side, humidity is only 39% and it is breezy. Stay in the shade and it;s not so bad .

7. I live in an attic apartment.
If you don't hear from after this weekend it's because I'll have been reduced to a puddle with eyes.

13. Negative.
My electric runs off the landlord's electric downstairs and he's put the kibosh on that idea. I can understand, but it sucks anyways.

It's funny, when I moved up here from downstairs it was having no heat in the winter that bothered me. But over the last few years I've totally gotten used to that and have actually learned to like it (I sleep great when it's frosty). The heat though just sucks the life out of me, and seems worse each year. I have a couple fans, but they just blow the hot air around.

Oh well, no biggie. Nothing I can do about it except deal. My friend downstairs will let my cat stay down there during the heatwave, so that's cool. I'll miss not having him up here at night, but it'll be way too hot for him, and my friend keeps his place icy cool.

I may just get out and listen to some tunes on that fancy Ipod thingie some cool person just gave me. :D

16. It's usually only a few real hot spells per summer here.
I'm just not mentally prepared because this is the first one. After this the other times won't even be a big deal. :)

12. Try doing what we used to do a long time ago before AC.
Get yourself a window fan or at least a box fan.

During the day have the fan blow out the window, this helps get rid of the heat in the bouse.

At night time have the fan blow inwards, to bring in the cooler night breeze.

15. I have two fans going.
One blowing in and the other blowing out, trying to get some air moving. At night I do what you say and turn them both inwards. It helps to a point, but there's only so much one can do with the sun hitting the roof most of the day. I can't really complain considering the heat you guys deal with all the time down there. I'm a winter guy. I'd never survive. :scared:

Just got to deal, and keep plenty of liquid on hand. I should buy stock in Powerade! :)

17. The one reason I bought my old house was that it was built for no AC.
We went without AC for two weeks, with fans in the windows.

I don't know how we lived without AC all those years ago, just didn't know better.

Lots of colds baths or showers help.

9. Another reason I love mountain living!
no humidity
no mosquitos
no ticks

but that also means...

(almost) no rain
no nightlife
no diversity

Oh, well. I don't like humans much anyways...
