You can HUFF, you can PUFF, but you can't blow...
this barn down!

Another fun weather day across the Midwest and, right on cue, the sirens are going off now! I just hope the trees don't tangle with the power lines again. Our power was out from 10pm Friday until Monday afternoon. Stay safe everyone!

:hi:

...And some 'after' photos of the severe weather that hit our little corner of Central Indiana on Friday night...

Tree across the driveway

Tree down in the pasture

Fence damage and more firewood

Flooding

More flooding

A near miss (ruts in the muddy ditch where a van swerved to avoid a large tree branch that had fallen across the road during the storm)

Ducks and geese enjoying the wet weather

1. I helped a neighbor push over his garage once
it was leaning like the barn in that picture and we pushed it over so they could bulldoze it and haul it away.

2. I had anticipated that it would be flattened
when I drove past on the way to town Saturday morning, but no... just leaning a little bit more to the North.

4. The garden flooded
but we plant atop mounds so, the veggies survived and are thriving with all of the wet weather.

Wow, that building is REALLY LEANING!!!

:hi:

5. Glad the veggies are happy!

We are getting some thunder and rain right now... maybe the same system that just passed over you!

How much longer until the GM Summerpalooza Extravaganza begins? :D

7. It never fails to blow me away when
a giant tree is uprooted by mother nature. We've lost tons of limbs but have been spared the uprooting.

Those are awe-inspiring pictures.

9. The lightning and winds were incredible
We could see the trees around the house bending almost horizontal in the +70mph gusts, but had no idea how much firewood we'd end up with. I was just thrilled that no trees or limbs crashed into the house and very relieved that our roof didn't blow off!

10. Too much of a good thing is bad, bad, BAD!!!

To quote Winnie the Pooh... "It's getting floodier and floodier".

If it keeps raining like this, I may have to swim to the post office and grocery store later today. x(

The tiny creek on the side of this home has overflowed its' banks and threatens to flood the house...

The culvert can't handle the amount of water so, it's flowing up and over the road

And this is what's left of my veggie patch... (I have little islands of tomato and pepper plants, but some of the seed beds have completely washed away now.)

11. Oh noes! The veggies!!!

I am so sorry sweetie. :(

The only upside is, perhaps you and little Meanie could get model sailboats and have races in the garden.

12. My husband got to see the whole thing from Camp Atterbury
He's O.K., but the last 24 hrs. have been very busy for them. They were in the field when the tornado hit. Their bus got bent in half! :scared:

Your pics look like half of Central IN right now. Hope all is better soon! :hi:

18. Looking too familiar
Lots of t-stroms, tornado warnings, trees down, flooding here yesterday. In fact most of the school systems in the Metro DC area are closed because of widespread power outages.

19. YUCK... time to don your UFO-CAP!

Of course, it's not very likely to keep you dry, but there is a strong possibility that high winds will pick you up and toss you like a frisbee!

Duck into your shell if the tornado sirens go off and stay safe, Turtleysue! :pals:
