Looking at cars on CL- an '01 Metro costs more than an '01 Expedition |
|
It's sad though, a lot of cars of all sorts being sold for almost nothing, a lot of "must sell today!" type stuff. I buy cars a lot for my Dad's business, that almost always means that somebody's trying to scrape up the cash to keep their house or their other car.
If I needed another car and had some extra cash lying around, I'd be a very happy woman right now, because there's all kinds of great cars being sold for almost nothing.

4. There's a cute little RAV4 for cheap. |
|
I haven't really seen a newer car I want. I'd like something newer, better MPG, but not significantly smaller.

5. The RAV4 is a good choice. |
|
But naturally, my vote goes elsewhere.
Mazdaspeed3. All the space, all the race.

Anyhow, I'm not in the market for a car, only poking around for my own amusement. The Saturn still isn't giving me any problems.

9. I was next to one at the light yesterday (the regular wagon, not the mazdaspeed) |
|
and yes, it's enough smaller than my car that I'd be rather unhappy with it.

8. A lot of dealerships won't even take SUVs in trade now |
|
because there's such a glut of them on the market. If they do take them, they're only paying pennies on the dollar.
There's lots of good deals on cars, but don't even get me started on real estate. I'm looking to pay 75% of what I would have paid two years ago for a condo in a very in-demand neighbhorhood.
Gotta love supply and demand.

10. There is a huge difference between an Expedition and a RAV-4 |
|
The huge SUV's gobble up gas, while a RAV-4, Honda CRV, etc are 4 cylinders and are much more efficient. Not as efficient as a tiny car though.
I am keeping my CRV since I am barely 4'11" tall and can't SEE over the other cars and am scared I am going to get creamed into bodygoo in a small car. It is my only car and I love it.

11. "Let the market decide" means that marketers decided for years... |
|
...to keep on pushing the same big gas-guzzlers. Where is the Congress that will mandate fuel efficiency before it becomes a crisis?
