Poll question: Do you correct typos in your books?
I do. I can't help it. If I come across a typo, (and I do, often), I grab a pen and correct it. My husband asks me why I do this. I told him so that next time I come across the same typo in the book, I'll know I caught it the first time.

Needless to say, he thinks I'm insane.

Do you do this weird behavior too?

4. Even worse...
When my cousin heard that I wanted to write a book, he wrote one and had it self-published.

When I got a copy, I went through and edited all the mistakes. Not one of my more admirable moments, but I was pissed that he one-upped me on purpose.

I kept the edits to myself. I'm not that mean. :P

He's got this competition thing with me for some reason. I don't know why he doesn't just take it out on his brother. :D

3. Mentally.
I'm reading "The Corner" right now, and the word "visibly" was spelled "visbly," which took me right out of the moment.

7. Is that the book that the HBO (or whatever) series was based on?

I'm 70 pages into it so far, and it's excellent.

Did you read "Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets"? It's the same author (David Simon), and it was the inspiration for the TV show "Homicide: Life on the Street."

Of course, David Simon also created my favorite show, "The Wire."

10. Writing in books is sacrilege
Ergo, I scan the offending page and convert it to .pdf, noting the error, then e-mail it to the publisher with a scathing letter of reproval, with copies to every literary critic on the planet.

14. Occasionally
once I found an error on the front page of my newspaper, and got out a pen and amended it whilst in the queue to pay for it.

The number two pencil is my defacing weapon of choice.
