Especially because nothing (except, IMO, the big lie that got us into Iraq) has been on-par with Watergate in terms of potential destruction to politicos.

It's especially bad with news people. I realize that people watch them every day, but they don't know them, and calling them by their first names, or worse yet nicknames, is silly and a bit rude.

I've noticed that here (and pretty much only here) for a long time — not just news people, but damned near every Dem politician and a lot of Republikanners.
It got especially bad during the primaries. One expects to hear "Hillary" a lot, though I still think it isn't proper. But all the "Barack" this and "Barack" that makes me want to send a boatload of people to Miss Manners' house.
It was the same with Kucinich — "Dennis" this and "Dennis" that.
Im. proper.
