3. The 5 method.
Get five eggs. Mix them 5 gallons of water. Add 5 ounces of hot sauce. Let them sit for five days in the garage. Then pour around the perimeter of the garden. Of course you will need a clothespin for your nose while near the garden but the deer should leave it alone.

4. Plant something else
and check the Master Gardener Program in your state. In Illinois go to http://www.urbanext.uiuc.edu/perennials/deer.html

5. Go to your local barbershop and get the hair clippings
spread it around the outside of your garden.
Another thing I have heard of is sprinklers hooked to an infrared perimeter system. Deer trip ir beam, sprinkler goes off, deer leaves.

6. I've had some luck putting mothballs around the garden.
We've got a lot of deer around here and they were working on some new fruit trees I planted. I'd heard about mothballs so I gave it a try. So far, so good. They last longer than I had anticipated, so that's good. I put them down in November and they're still there. Good luck. Love to look at the deer; hate the damage they can do.

7. Pee around the edges
they don't like the scent.

They also sell mountain lion pee for the same purpose

9. Yup
there's a guy here in Upstate NY who sells a repellant made from, I believe, wolf urine. I'm going to try it this spring if we get another skunk infestation.

(I'd pee around the perimeter myself but my aim's not so good, being a girl and all.)

16. We are planting a vineyard and have to scare off the deer
My brother suggested an electric fence, my partner told me about peeing around the edges - Something tells me to pick one OR the other :-)

10. Come now
why would you want to keep the postal carriers away? They deliver the stuff you just ordered online!

I <heart> my postal carrier. :loveya:

12. Really?
All they ever send me are library notices, uninteresting catalogues and utility bills.

How do I order stuff off the internet? Do I have to pay for that?

17. Pee is very good.
And if your drink heavily before you pee, that's even better (just kidding!). The one thing that I have learned after posting here about feeding deer is: don't feed them. Try the pee, really!

20. My uncle in Indiana was on the board of the local zoo...
he'd go get a few buckets of tiger poop & spread it around the borders of his garden. That worked quite well...
