I happened to learn about DU from fr. Buzzflash had a link to a fr thread where the freepers were questioning someone with a different opinion, saying he was a troll from DU. He swore he didn't know what DU meant, I didn't either. Finally someone explained, I found this site, joined the same day and the rest is history.

At least for me, fr was a godsend for one day, at least.

13. I have three of them at work..

in the same aisle of cubicles. One of them swears the Wall Street Journal is a "moderate" newspaper. One had his children home schooled because the schools are "too liberal".

So take heart: You don't have to go to Freeperland. I however, live in it for 8 hours a day :)

BTW, they're disgusted with Bush, which is a very good sign!

I live in Rural Northeast Wisconsin. Other than the more intelligent and Union heavy parts of Marinette (the IPU bless those hardworking people!), it's all Freeper, all the time.

Have a look at our local weekly newspaper's columnist, the Country Cousin, and you'll know how bad things are up here.
