4. Aye!
It's nasty hot & humid in NYC. I'm a little luckier, tho: there's more breeze near the watery parts (I live in Coney Island) but it's still draining on everyone...I am sorry for those that have to be more in the thick of it. Brooklyn is at 91deg currently, per WeatherUnderground.

23. Las Vegas -- 96°F

Shade reading, of course, though shade's a scarce commodity in the desert. Not bad for this time of year. We had a hot spell a couple or three weeks ago but then it got mild -- one day the high was 107 and the next was 88 -- and so far it's only been a tad over 100°F on most days. The days of 115 in the shade (easily 120-125° at your skin in the sun) are coming quickly... :-(

27. 83 here; 85 in the house
At least the kid has an air conditioner in his room. Woe betide him if he wanders into the master bedroom in the middle of the night; it's nowhere near as cool.

Funny...I was just thinking about the movie Soylent Green a little while ago...doesn't seem so sci-fi now...

Had one fall a few months ago in a windstorm; tonight we lost another one.

And the tallest of the tall trees around us is looking mighty scary, the way it's flailing around in the wind. :scared:

50. Here in Florida it is 71 degrees with a cool breeze from the ceiling fan
Of course I'm indoors. I will never understand the North East 90 plus degree days in the summer and no central air in their million dollar mansions.

(And don't try that old saw how it never used to be this hot I grew up in CT in the seventies and they had heat waves every summer with high humidity and horrible little window units for air.)
