The other day, I went to Whole Foods when something caught my eye. They were selling bottles of mint infused water. Curious, I purchased a bottle and fell in love. The next day, I bought two new flavors. I was working out today and I finished my last bottle. I was sad and contemplated buying more when I realized, "GRLMGC, you idiot. It's just mint and water. You can make your own!"
Now, which is the best way to get the minty goodness into the water. Should I boil some mint with water and then put it in a pitcher in the refrigerator or should I just add mint to the pitcher of water and let it sit there?

1. The mint in the cold water works best, otherwise |

Do you know how much mint I should approximately use?

3. I found this one on Yahoo... |
|
I just make it to taste when I make it for myself, but this sounds about right.
Mint Water. Twist or bruise 1 cup of peppermint, spearmint, or other mint. Place in a clean half-gallon container. fill with fresh, cool water. Chill in refrigerator.

5. Very good for trembling tummies... |
|
I kind of sort of mush fresh mint leaves with the bowl of a spoon and then put them in a glass (and/or pitcher) and always manage to get quite a bit of minty fresh, stomach soothing water.

7. My grandpa used to drink it while working out in the fields during hot |

weather...that's how I learned about it. He could drink quickly without heaving that way.

8. You probably know this |
|
but Mint probably will grow like crazy in your garden without much care at all. In fact, we have to beat ours back because it encroaches onto the other flowers and herbs. It comes back each year (a hardy perennial).
It is yummy in tea, but I haven't tried it in plain cool water. Sounds good. :)

9. I make sun tea using fresh spearmint leaves when they are available. |
|
Then chill it in the fridge for several hours. It's tea rather than just mint water, but it's refreshing on a hot day.
