There's a great TOMATO FESTIVAL this weekend
Lots of bad news about Tomatoes and Salmonella but in the New Orleans French Market this weekend the FRENCH QUARTER CREOLE TOMATO FESTIVAL will be in full swing. The homegrown tomatoes are not part of those looked at for Salmonella. Lots of food booths, lots of live music, lots of fun.

2. Thanks very much My Friend
We have a pretty nice creole tomato crop so far this year. Planning my second planting as I hunt and peck.

5. Good for you. We may end up trying to plant some around here too.
I'm not sure we are zoned for it though. What makes creole tomatoes so good?

10. Creoles are rather acidic
and have an almost "hot" taste to them. There is nothing bland about their bouquet if you will. Supposedly they are only grown in South Louisiana (its the soil) but plants are available in South Mississippi as well. It may be an acquired taste but no one would complain about the lack of taste of those little beauties.

3. Hey, do you live in Hanover?
I'm in Chesterfield. There are a lot of DUers around the Richmond area.

A rare form of tuberculosis caused by illegal, unpasteurized dairy products, including the popular queso fresco cheese, is rising among Hispanic immigrants in Southern California and raising fears about a resurgence of a strain all but eradicated in the U.S.

Cases of the Mycobacterium bovis strain of TB have increased
