Figured that's maybe 700 calories , so I can still remain within the limit I set myself , no worries.

well, went to www.calorieking.com today ,and to my horror I consumed 1300 calories in that one Burrito ! jeez .... do they cook the ingredients in Lard ?

1300 ? burning that amount on the treadmill won't be fun

3. It's probably the beans and sour cream...
both can contain lard in restaurant settings to make them smoother on the palate, extend shelf-life and ease of use.

5. Here's the ingredients page from the corporate site:
http://www.chipotle.com/#flash/food_ingredients
(Flash - hold cursor over ingredients for a pop-up description-balloon)

I get one of their burritos about once a week, vegetarian style, and love them :)
Plus, it's faster than "fast food" (and healthier without any cheese or sour cream) as I can walk in and out again in about 2 minutes. I go when they open and take it back to the office. So, I can then post here as I eat :P

8. I LOVE Chipotle
Edited on Tue Jun-10-08 07:23 PM by LucyParsons
And am ecstatic that, since they are no longer owned by McDonald's, my conscience will let me eat there. I usually have four hard shell tacos with black beans, lime rice, grilled onions and peppers, guacamole, romaine lettuce, and tomatillo salsa. That's healthy. But then, I'm vegan. :D

10. We don't have Chipotle around here, but we do have Moe's
I made the mistake of looking up the nutritional value of their burritos, and they were pretty close to what you described. I was destroyed! I mean, I knew I was compromising my diet, but I had no idea how badly! Zoinks!
