Hi, everytime I try to save an image as a .jpg, it tries to save as a .bmp...for example, if I save something like kermit.jpg, it defaults to untitled.bmp. How do I fix this...I tried clearing my temporary files, and makes my computer freeze and I get an error message. I have raised the level of how many mb i can save, but no luck. Help!! :argh:

Which OS? Windows 95? 98? ME? 2000 Pro? NT 4? XP?
Which graphics program? Is it Microsoft Paint?
Win 95 or 98 along with MS Paint works only with BMP images, it won't save to jpg.

Is to just save it as whatever the default is then open it after you save it when you do that at the bottom of the screen will be the picture of a computer disk click that to "copy:" in the COPY drop down screen it will give you the choice of what type of file you want to copy it to i.e
.jpeg .gif .bmp
etc
just click .Jpg and your file that you downloaded as a BMP will now be saved a jpeg
piece of cake remember to go back and erase the .bmp copy. a lot of us that save images have to do this if we cant save it as jpeg initially
