Like a Rolling Stone
I was thinking, tonight, about the line, You shouldn't let other people get your kicks for you...

http://youtube.com/watch?v=xO0gSJGJ7Fs

Like a Rolling Stone

Once upon a time you dressed so fine
You threw the bums a dime in your prime, didnt you?
Peopled call, say, beware doll, youre bound to fall
You thought they were all kiddin you
You used to laugh about
Everybody that was hangin out
Now you dont talk so loud
Now you dont seem so proud
About having to be scrounging for your next meal.

How does it feel
How does it feel
To be without a home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone?

Youve gone to the finest school all right, miss lonely
But you know you only used to get juiced in it
And nobody has ever taught you how to live on the street
And now you find out youre gonna have to get used to it
You said youd never compromise
With the mystery tramp, but now you realize
Hes not selling any alibis
As you stare into the vacuum of his eyes
And ask him do you want to make a deal?

How does it feel
How does it feel
To be on your own
With no direction home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone?

You never turned around to see the frowns on the jugglers and the clowns
When they all come down and did tricks for you
You never understood that it aint no good
You shouldnt let other people get your kicks for you
You used to ride on the chrome horse with your diplomat
Who carried on his shoulder a siamese cat
Aint it hard when you discover that
He really wasnt where its at
After he took from you everything he could steal.

How does it feel
How does it feel
To be on your own
With no direction home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone?

Princess on the steeple and all the pretty people
Theyre drinkin, thinkin that they got it made
Exchanging all kinds of precious gifts and things
But youd better lift your diamond ring, youd better pawn it babe
You used to be so amused
At napoleon in rags and the language that he used
Go to him now, he calls you, you cant refuse
When you got nothing, you got nothing to lose
Youre invisible now, you got no secrets to conceal.

How does it feel
How does it feel
To be on your own
With no direction home
Like a complete unknown
Like a rolling stone?

1. I love Bob Dylan
And I love this song. It rings so true to the past generations, and especially those who have had to work their way up from nothing and mocking those who had all and when it gets taken away, they are clueless.

It's a great song by a great man. I wish I could have seen him live. I'm sure his concerts were just as entertaining as was prominent the smell of marijuana.

2. He's Not Dead Yet!
His concerts are great! Everyone starts screaming out lyrics and that's just one of the songs they scream too.

Come in, she said I'll give you, shelter from the storm.

3. I know, but
He's not touring a lot more though, is he? I was fortunate to catch a Springsteen concert earlier this year, which was an absolute blast! All the cries of "Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuuce" and then when he came out with the big guns like Thunder Road and Born to Run the whole arena went crazy. Whole lot of fun.

But she never escaped my mind, and I just grew tangled up in blue.

5. He is always touring
I have seen him twice and liked both. Well, the one I worked for security just to see the show. Standing about a foot away from Dylan is close to surreal. When he was leaving the stage he looked at me and squinted his eyes. I am guessing he was wondering who the hell hired a 5 foot 5 inch dude to work security for him..LOL

4. I saw Bob two years ago. I was really disappointed.
He changed the arrangement to every song to the point where the only thing I could recognize about them were the lyrics. It took what could have been an awesome concert to an average one. That being said, when he did his version of Like A Rolling Stone it did give me chills on the back of my neck.
