Think I'm going to have screaming nightmares tonight. Should I get blind drunk?

Fuck you, Barbara Hambly, for writing one of the most horrifying books in the history of fiction. (Seriously, how the hell was that shelved under "fantasy?" That little work -- which I refuse even to NAME -- makes Stephen King look like a hippie.)

I'm thinking of knocking back a LOT of booze in the hope it'll keep me from dreaming. Good idea or bad?

If sleeping pills meant I didn't dream, I'd take those instead, but they just put me under enough that I can't wake up from my nightmares unless I'm bone tired.

(And yes, I know not to mix booze and sleeping pills.)

1. Which of her books?

The new one about Renfield? I find her writing very uneven - some is very good and some just sucks. Anyway tell me what book, I love nightmares and waking up in a cold sweat of fear.

I love those. The rest of her books - particularly the fantasy - I'm not so crazy about.
