Edited on Wed Jun-11-08 11:49 PM by Carnea
I was referring to Lower back tattoos which used to exclusive to a small subset of hip alternative girls.

Now of course everyone short of Barbara Bush seems to sport one.

Which is what happens when something formerly hip becomes unhip. Unfortunately unlike other hip things tattoos are a little more difficult to get rid off so the hip are kinda stuck with them.

The Bar Contest

The Dorm Room

And my personal favorite Bible Camp.

So I apologize for any offense taken it was in the spirit of making fun of the hip..... Next time I'll stick with my alternative answer organic food.

Edited on Wed Jun-11-08 11:58 PM by KitchenWitch
I do not have a "tramp stamp" but the way you worded your other post, it was not very clear to me that you meant that style of tat. I remember the Celtic Knots or vines, or barbed wire around the biceps that were a huge trend in the 1980s, which is when I got my unicorn. I am really glad I did not get that done, because it looks very dated.

The tomatoes are organically grown and bear no salmonella microbes.

46. Thank you for throwing organic.
I meant tramp stamp which if it isn't already is very quickly becoming dated. I had forgotten that barbered wire around the bicep.... yup you can throw away your spiked leather bracelet and Don Johnson jacket (Both of which I owned but never wore together I hope) but a tat is almost forever.

Haruka wants to finally get her back done in a few months. She's planning on getting a Celtic cross done. It's a gorgeous cross that she's going to get drawn up, and it's going to be huge.

BTW, I learned in GD that this means she's a white supremacist. At least according to some 19 post troll.

I went in to one here and discussed it with him. He, at first, wasn't willing because of the whole not wanting to put a permanent name on someone. Then I explained the situation to him and he was really up for it. And then...I lost my nerve. I'm positive about it now. Maybe I will hold off until California. Good idea Shakes..

114. you could also have a lovely monogram designed for you of his initials
a good tattoo artist could make a really arty looking piece out of that.

like my daughter who is now in Phoenix...

oh by the way she has been doing this for 5 years and I still don't have one.

can't think of anything I want permanently on my body.

SHE on other hand has 4. one of them starts at her bikini line on her hip and covers most of her thigh. The other 3 are a set: one in the low back and two smaller versions of the same on her hip bones in the front. Only visible if she is wearing a two piece bathing suit or parading around the house in her underwear

I would never consider asking someone to try to copy my dad's ..man it was pretty but very very um complicated and would be very hard to do.

and my husband's....no way he has pretty bad penmanship.

have some tiny little flowers put around it like a wreath of sorts, or just under it. That would be pretty. In your favorite flower or color of course.

Too bad my kid can't do it for you. She could design you something really nice

117. In all seriousness, don't get drunk before you get a tattoo.
You'll bleed more, (alcohol thins the blood), scab, and it will pull the color out. Also, most reputable tattoo artists won't let you get a tattoo when you're drunk.

110. Alright there was a thread asking what things the hip still like.
Even though the white trash at Walmart have fully adapted the item.

You know the way nobody with an education post high school or an income post 20k wears hip hugger jeans or nose rings anymore.

Anyway I was going with the answer organic food. Of course that even though the Walmart crowd is buying it people are still driving out of there way to pay eight dollars for a tomato at whole foods. Free trade coffee was another hipster idea that has gone mass market.

But I decided to be clever and post about lower back tattoos that were a long time ago hip and now are called tramp stamps are are ubiquitous. And unlike other fads the poor hip people are stuck with them. Well I worded it poorly and like the city council of Gibstonton Florida a angry mob of Tattooed ladies attack me.

So I am huddled here under this bridge waiting for the weather to clear up.

I said that they were now uncool like nose rings and hip hugger jeans. And they had been adapted by both the masses as well as certain criminal underclasses. I used humour that was probably purposfully misinterpeted.

And honestly why would loose be an insult? I would think uptight would be more of an insult and honestly I see more uptight in this thread then ladies hanging loose. :grr:

Unless A: They have a Tramp Stamp and B: They feel like a complete tool 10 years after the fact. I sympathize get over it. save up for laser surgery.

Man this is frustrating.

READ THE POST

In no way does a tattoo make you a loose woman nor did I ever suggest this. It could possibly be because everyone is doing it from 85 year old grandmas to 12 year old girls. 36% of young people have at least one. :)

The Clinton campaign spent money tracking tattooed voters.

But for the most part, Penn's book is simply a collection of sampled data with supporting analysis. Typical microtrends include the political and religious attitudes of 'moderate Muslims', to the effect of 'late breaking gays' on their heterosexual spouses, to the explosion of 'uptown tattooed" Republicans.

http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_qa5490/is_200805/ai_n25420373''

BTW apparently late breaking gays' and 'uptown tattooed" Republicans" are two separate groups.

Oh dear the so called Tramp stamp is gaining speed fastest young upper middle class Republican woman.

Is there a better way to say the trend is dead.

So a tramp stamp statistically doesn't make you loose. But if current trends continue it might make you a young rich white republican girl. Now wouldn't you rather be mistaken for a hooker.

Look if you want to get a tramp stamp so you can fit in with your sorority sisters at the next GOP fundraiser and slave auction be my guest. But don't come here complaining I called you loose.
