3. David Soul was in "A Few Good Men"
with Jack Nicholson. He was the guy who killed himself so he wouldn't have to testify.

I think Robbie Benson was the voice of Aladdin in the Disney film.

Polly Holliday played Jill's mother on "Home Improvement."

I think Nipsy Russell is dead.

That's all I know about.

4. i saw flo in a movie...
Edited on Fri Feb-20-04 01:49 AM by Ysabel
the other day ( a bad one - starring that superman - from the television show - dude - i never liked him or his co-star that played lois lane either - i don't like her in commercials either - i think they must be buddy buddy with some producers - especially him - he has been in a whole slew of bad movies - but all she gets is bad commercials) - anyway he was a cop who thought he wanted to be a priest or something like that - he was psychologically torn betwween either killing people if he had to - or saving them - ahem - sure - sure - and she was some lady who opened a door when he came around snooping and asking questions - even though he'd gotten suspended for killing some kid - you know the story - and wasn't really supposed to be snooping - he even saved some old bum in the end who was living the high life on a boat - not sure what happened to the guy - most likely hauled off to some institution - i guess flo maybe was the only thing that made the movie worth while - if one likes her - i like her - oh yeah - and of course he decides - in the end that - yeah - he can kill some kids again if need be...

h.r. puffinstuff - i saw him somewhere recently - and he looked the pretty much the same - i thought that was weird...

edit - typo...

6. Max Gail guested on the Drew Carey show a few years ago
As a gay man. I can't remember who played his partner, but it was a similary kind of person.

One of the Hudson brothers fathered Kate Hudson.

Nancy McKeon does really bad tv-movies for Lifetime.

Beth Howland married some semi-famous guy, but I don't remember who.

Victor French died.

And I don't know about the others.

18. Stacy Lattisaw got out of the business early to raise her family
I think. She seems to be very family oriented. I remember hearing that she got into the business in the first place (at what, 12 years old?) in order to help out her family, her brother, another potential bread earner, was serving time in prison at the time.

George and Gwen McRae busted up a long time ago. George apparently ran off with all their money, left the country. I believe he settled in the Netherlands, if I remember correctly, leaving Gwen to try to keep her career going and raise the family. Her career wasn't going anywhere and so she went to nursing school. The last I heard she was either in New York or Florida, working as a nurse, still raising the family by herself, without the help of deadbeat George.

France Joli, well she's not that old. She's only just 40, I think. She's probably still around, still performing whenever she can find a gig (such as a gay circuit party event) or a producer (such as Tony Green) to record her. I have a very good dance single of hers from about five years ago called Breakaway, but I'm not up on anything more recent that she's done. Where are you France Joli?

19. For a decade I saw Jimmie "DY-NO-MITE!" Walker in Las Vegas sportsbooks
Strangely, not in the last year or so. Believe it or not, he loves to bet hockey, especially the "Grand Salami" (total combined goals in that day's hockey games).

Jimmie Walker works out regularly in sporting clubs and is anything but the frail pushover of his Good Times days. He loves the UNLV Rebel basketball team and would volunteer to play in the tiny basketball band during the Tarkanian heyday in the late '80s-early '90s.

I would see Jimmie several times per week -- usually in the Stardust -- often sitting in the sportsbook at night, sweating out his bets next to the sportsbook regulars. He was always personable and very frequently asked me the score of a hockey game if I ran into him while exiting a casino.

A few years ago the Stardust sportsbook brass invited Jimmie into their annual football handicapping contest, picking 7 games vs. the pointspread on Friday night on radio station KDWN 720, one-on-one against another handicapper. Jimmie Walker was hysterical, picking the most obscure games for bizarre reasons. His specialty was picking CFL games, which virtually no one pays any attention to. One year later, the Stardust barred the handicappers from selecting CFL games!

26. A few months ago I saw Jimmie Walker
on a celebrity dating show on "E" (I think.) He was polite to the women, he was still kind of funny, but the whole idea of the show was a little degrading. It's like those washed-up celebrities living in a house together ("The Surreal Life") because they miss having cameras on them.

Vincent Van Patten married a soap opera actress last year and they had a baby. The actress is on "The Young and the Restless" and plays Ashley (I happen to watch that soap when I can.) I don't know what he's doing career-wise.

28. I saw Jimmie Walker at "Bananas" comedy club last month!
He was pretty funny, though not hilarious, did some vaguely Bush-bashing jokes, though not biting enough for me. Mostly commentary on current media stars-- eh.

He was quite middle-aged, had gained a fair amount of weight.

Not once did he call out "Dy-no-mite!!" Guess he got thoroughly sick of that.

34. Jack Wild ...
Jack "Puf'n'stuf" Wild was in the Kevin Costner vehicle "Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves." I saw him interviewed around that time; he had gone through years of alcoholism, and looked pretty rung out. What a shame; I had such a crush on him as a kid. TV Land is promoting a Pufnstuf DVD collection, with an interview with Jack Wild.

Mindy Cohn was in some sort of Facts of Life reunion a few years back.

I saw Helen Reddy in concert a few years back (she sang standards and a few of her hits). Very enjoyable concert, actually. I also saw her on (cringe!) Dick Van Dyke's "Diagnosis, Murder" as a singer developing Alzheimer's (don't hurt me! I was watching it with my elderly mom!).

Jimmy Osmond became a businessman; ran the business affairs of all singing Osmonds (except Donny and Marie). Sings with the Osmond country quartet, I believe ... sometimes filling in for Alan Osmond, who has M.S. (I think it's Alan).

I think Erin Moran became a born-again Christian and abandoned showbiz.

I think Beth ("Alice") Howland is still married to Charles Kimbrough, who played Jim Dial on "Murphy Brown." They were in the original Broadway cast of "Company" together.

Rick Springfield was on "Behind the Music." And he was charged with spousal assault a few years ago. Still married to her. Always creeped me out that, when he was 25, he dated a 15-year-old Linda Blair. Ew. Speaking of Blair, she's an outspoken vegan and animal rights activist ... appears at local fundraisers for animal-rescue/animal-rights organizations.

David Soul's been married about five times. Didn't he assault one of those wives along the way? Of course, he and both Paul Michael Glaser are making cameos in the new Wilson/Stiller "Starsky and Hutch" movie. Speaking of Glaser ... did you spot him as Diane Keaton's editor/ex-husband in "Something's Gotta Give"?

Randolph Mantooth used to appear in sketches on John Henson's "Talk Soup" on E! network a few years ago.

And I, too, would LOVE to know what became of Rodney Allen Rippey!

53. Mantooth
Part of his time is spent going around the country educating, recruiting, and fundraising for EMS. Many rural areas rely upon private donations for a goodly share of their budgets. Also, nearly all of the EMT's in those areas are volunteers. The county I live in is in that boat.

He was here (Kentucky) recently to visit several towns and smaller cities to raise awareness of both the services offered by and the needs of these organizations.
