Postcards from the Edge of Civilization
Lounge Lizards, my bags, camping & fishing gear are packed and I AM OUTTA HERE!!! :bounce: :woohoo: :bounce:

LittleGreenMeanie and I will be heading north to Leech Lake, Minnesota for the first leg of our month long gypsy-safari summer adventure tomorrow morning! I'll be checking in and posting photos as often as I'm able.

Don't forget to water the plants, bring in the mail, change the kitty litter, and, please, try not to burn the place down while I'm gone!!!

Anyone wanting postcards need only drop me a PM with their address.

Oh, how I love the great wild north... Smoked fish jerky fudge, MMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!! :9

Adios Amigos! :hi:

I hope our weather is kind to you. It's been a non stop rain storm for two weeks, with the exception of today. :hi:

8. It looks like we'll hit some wet & windy junk driving up tomorrow...
but Weather.com is predicting that next week ought to be fairly dry!

I have my fingers, toes, legs, & eyes crossed in hopes that we may enjoy a few warm sunny days.

and I've an almost obsessive attraction to weird roadside stuff!!! I'll most definitely be looking for Minnesota's equivalent to "Captain Kendrick's Memorial Hot Dog Wildlife Preserve" while I'm there. :silly:

7. In Venice, CA
There was a place called "Terriaki Doughnut". A cute little dismal place on the street surfers went to in the late 1980s.

12. I'd have felt better if my daughter had chosen your edge of the earth
Instead, she was chosen to work with the U.N. War crimes tribunal in Sierra Leone
in western Africa this summer. Now THAT is the edge of the earth!

that, tragically, is one of the tattered and torn edges of our civilization. She is doing important work... may she keep safe. :pals:
