I first learned about it about 26 years ago, long before I moved here.

A friend was moving back here from Kentucky and my then fiance (now husband) told me to find out what part of the area he was going to. Mike knew my husband was from the area and he says "Tell him I'm going to the scrotum" and then he said "he will know what I mean" So I go back to my husband, tell him this, he cracks up then gets out the map to show me the scrotum on the map.

He maintains to this day that it was some highway engineer's mad scientist/nerd joke on the rest of the metroplex
