So, I had another bit of a scene this morning
My crew mate and I were redirected to a job site over in Roxbury (they NEEDED us) to be on call for the contractor. Anyhow, they apparently just needed company as they had no work for us, so we proceeded to stand around (for what ended up being the entire day, save for the last 20 minutes) and shoot the shit with the cops, our 'minder' and the foreman. At about 9:30, my mate got tired of standing around so he went to his truck to nap or whatever. At about 10 I figured I'd go back to my van and get out of the sun. So I'm walking, and taking my time as there's absolutely no hurry today towards our vehicles that were parked about 100' from where the machinery was tearing up the intersection. Our 'minder' is sitting in his pick-up opposite a side street, my van behind him, and my coworker's truck behind me.

As I'm approaching the side street to cross, there's a white Scion stopped at the stop sign waiting to take a turn. As I'm almost at the street, I hear a revving engine of a car going at least 40 (probably faster) is bearing down on the Scion. He slams on his brakes but way too late to do anything...... and then the scene happened.

The speeder slams into the Scion, deploying his airbags, and totaling his car. The female driver of the Scion screams in panic as her car takes off like a missile. I look right at my 'minder's face and see his eyes blow like quarters for a second before he gets T-boned - right into the driver's side door. His car is totaled.

I immediately started to move toward our 'minder' as the guy is in his 70's and I thought for sure he was gonna be dead, but stopped short as the driver of the speeding car got out of his car and ran like the wind back down the street he came. Almost simultaneously 2 passenger doors on the Scion open up and two kids get out, and also run like the wind in a different direction. One of the 2 had a handgun in his left hand as he was running, and one or both of them were dropping shit left and right as they ran for their lives - a PS2, PS2 accessories, a Boston hat and a pound of Mexican brick that they dropped right next to my van.

I turn to see if I can get our Details' attention but they're both running and I direct one the way the gunner and his friend ran, and the other the way the other kid ran. It's then that I go to check on the old guy. He's already out of his truck and walking around. He informs me that, he wasn't sitting in that truck, and that I didn't see nuthin', got it? (I betrayed him as I told the police exactly what happened, and to please check him out as he got absolutely creamed)

Maybe this a minute later (happened so damn fast) and there are now police cars flying everywhere. They ended up catching 2 of the 3 (the one who was carrying the gun openly is still free) and slowly but surely the story (or rumor, as no one would corroborate anything among the people involved).

The speeder was a drug dealer. In a drug deal gone bad, the 2 kids robbed the dealer at gun point, and stole his PS2. The female was the getaway driver. The dealer went out looking for them, and found them. KABOOM!

So they closed off the area with crime scene tape for two hours (including my van) and did all that shit. The female driver of the car would not cooperate at all - there was no one else in my car; ok there where people in my car, but I don't know them; ok they're my friends, but I don't know their names, etc.

Yeah, so that was my scene today. My heart raced forever, it did. :o

I got some awesome crime scene photos though, which are stuck on my phone until I can figure out a way to get them off (sending them to my email keeps failing).

I think we were actually lucky for the accident, as if the story the cops think happened is true, there was going to be gun fight. Stunned there wasn't one anyway.

3 totaled cars. It was fucking insane. And I was about 15' away from it all. :wow:

The female driver of the Scion at least leaned out her door and puked while fire fighters were attending to her. Other than that she was up and walking around too.

I should start my memoirs before I'm rebanned from DU and can't retrieve my writings.

Today was just insane, and I almost immediately said, "I can't wait to get home to tell DU about this." Yes, I'm a DU-addict.

I thought he was a police photographer but I found out after he left, that he was a news guy. No idea where it will show up. No news vans or anything, but there may be a blurb in the City & Region.

I'm hoping for a Herald cover story in their usual over the top style.

Yeah, it was a surreal (and scary) scene, yet I had no idea what was going on other than there was just a major accident. It wasn't until the police started piecing the story together, that it sorta, made sense.

He also didn't want medical treatment, as it would prove he was a witness.

He talked all day about how we need to shut our mouths 'cuz these kids will kill ya. He's right, but I don't give a fuck. Also, I don't live there... and now, when I work there, I have police details with me.
