1. Have you called the utility?

Usually, if you approach them, you can get them to make a deal to stretch out the payments. It's not an ideal solution, but better than having the lights turned out. In the meantime, take some cool baths and read in the tub when the heat gets unbearable.

The price jumped from 13 cents a KWH to 17 in one month. Fuckers. And all the others are the same. Also if I switched it wouldn't take effect until the next meter read which is in July so I would have one more huge bill to contend with.
