The coolest thing I ever saw was the Smothers Brothers do a great satire on it--Dick was singing the song, and taking people on a tour of "Honey's House"--showing them all her wet snot rags and half-eaten TV dinners while he blubbered thru the treacly lyrics. Nobody did stuff like that in the 60s, it's not like they were on irony overload like we are now.
