9. Because I'm afraid my sump pump will stop working if I go to
sleep and then my downstairs will flood. Of course, I don't know what the hell difference it will make if I'm still awake, what am I going to do, bribe it to start working again? Plus, it is still raining, thunder, lightning and I am also beginning to contemplate building an ark out of empty Diet Dr. Pepper cans and gum...

Outside my house about 5 hours and 1 1/2 inches of water ago:

19. OH MY GOSH!
Somehow those drenching storms completely skipped over us in the central of MN (though there were tornados (or as Quayle would correct me "shouldn't that have an 'e' before the 's?')

I feel for ya. My next door neighbor has a fishing boat ... lemme know if you want me to come rescue you.

(I'm only half joking.)

I'm lucky to live high on a hill in the Minnesota River Valley. Mine is one of very few houses to *not* have a required sump pump. Even the 1960-something Jordan floods didn't touch my house.

My sister, on the other hand, lives just south of Des Moines near the Racoon River ... she's had a helluva time. :(

My brother attended Coe College, and has confirmed his (former) Frat House is better than 18-inches deep.

I really do feel for all of yous.

Our dishwasher died on us, and the new one is supposed to be delivered this
morning. My wife works regular hours, and I am station chief for Europe for
my outfit, so if I say I get the morning off, then I get the morning off. The
downside is that I'm stuck here staring at the rain waiting for the stupid
dishwasher to get delivered!! (On the whole, I'd rather be in Paris or Brussels....)

Just about the time you go to sleep, your neighbors are up and moving. The world does not work well for graveyarders.

My dad worked graveyard when I was a baby. Mom said I always stayed up and waited for him to come home...when he'd get home, I'd be standing up in my crib, waiting for him to come play a moment with me and tuck me in. She thinks that this is why I'm still a night-owl some forty years later. She's might be right. :)

46. Outside of the usual inanity, (ie Cha-Cha Slide, Electric Slide, Chicken Dance, etc.)
the bride and groom asked for a mix of classic rock and country; and they specifically asked for some older country (something I personally like.) There will also be karaoke. I was actually guilted into this by my mom (it's her best friend's daughter), because I quit doing weddings almost 2 years ago. Just when you think you're out...

How's about you come here, give me a nice warm body rub of grapeseed oil touched with a bit o' lavendar ... and I'll think about it.

Otherwise, let's put this into perspective ... imagine me ... Amberlynne ... working a 9-5 bit. I get home at five o'the-clock ... and I'm in bed by 7:30pm?

Meh.

I'll wait for a nice warm oil massage.

Pffffft.

Or I'll opt for the Benadryl to kick in.
