why is flea treatment so *&$@ expensive? |
|
I suppose they have you by the balls with this because not treating it isn't an option but jeeze it's almost $15 a treatment (x2 dogs x 5 months = omg no wonder I'm always broke)

It really helps my cat. She rarely has any fleas.

10. Yes. You can buy them at any pet supply store. My cat loves them. |

I just add one in with her dry food for every meal.
Some relatives told me about them. Seems to work for them, and me.
Just ask for some brewer's yeast and garlic pills.

3. Six dogs & two cats in my household. |
|
I use Bio-spot on the dogs, 18 bucks for three treatments (X2=36 bucks a month). I use it YEAR ROUND so just for Tick control I am spending 432 a year just on that. I don't have a flea issue in my household but the ticks are bad. I also dip the critters two-three times in the summer months.

5. There is now a combination topical |

flea and heart worm medicine. No pills. Just apply the same as you would Frontline. I will be getting it on my dog's next vet visit.

the only one I see that's really much cheaper is from Hong Kong. Is that where you're ordering from and how do we know it's not bogus? Any suggestions for a reputable seller you've used?

8. The cheapest I've found online is from Australia or New Zealand |
|
www.petsupplyexpress.com
They have advantage at a pretty reasonable price, low shipping, and I received my order in about four days. Also, the combination treatment for heartworms and fleas (Revolution) did not protect my dog from heartworms. He tested a slight positive last February, and I had to get him treated ($250 plus dangerous for him). I no longer use Revolution, and now use a combination of Advantage for the fleas and Interceptor for the heartworms. Good luck!

9. I'll go find the name of the seller I use. |
|
Once he sent me the wrong dosage, and sent me the correct one before he'd even received the return, because he's awesome.
And no, he's not in Hong Kong. He's a few freeway exits up the road from me, according to the return address label, which is nice because I get stuff in a day or two. I know some sellers have packages from other countries with slightly different dosages, etc. Those are cheaper but make me nervous, and the seller I use sends out the exact same packaging, dose, etc I can get from the pet store or the vet's office.

14. Anybody ever try rubbing diatomaceous earth into their dog's fur?? |
|
It kills every crawling insect that gets ya. I had fleas in my house and spread it on the rugs and upolstery, I used it in the garden to keep aphids and pests off the plants, and I would have used it on the cat, except cats lick their fur, so I didn't want to risk making her sick.
I don't have a dog, but I used to and I would powder that dog all the time to get rid of fleas. And I'm sure that powder was a lot more poisonous than Diatomacous Earth. A lot more expensive as well--I bought a 5 pound bag @ the nursery and it cost me $8.99!!! I still have most of it too!
