DU Ladies!!! Mani-Pedi question
I put bold colors on my toes
but mute the ones on my fingernails..
because I don't like to call attention to them
they don't match

when you get these done do you match the polish or not???

I tend to pick the pink spectrum's.

I have Chanel Organdy on my toes

but a paler pink on my nails..

How about you????

:hi;

1. Sometimes I match, sometimes I don't
Right now I match, but I have a flower on each of my big toes. Sometimes I get a bold color on my toes and a french on my fingies.

2. I very seldom have my fingernails polished, as it damaged them. Instead
my manicurist buffs them to a mirror bright shine. It almost looks like French Manicure.

My toenails are OPI Grand Canyon Sunset, a very nice dusty rose

I tend to do my toenails red but thought a softer color might be nice for summer.

3. When I was working in the salons, only 25% of clients matched
their manicure to their pedicure shade. Most tended to, like you, go darker on the feet. I won't use nail polish because I know what goes in it and what it will do to my nails. :hi:

7. I noticed that my nails break easier when I polish them regularly
Edited on Fri Jun-13-08 10:17 PM by Pithlet
I always wondered why, because I thought it was supposed to protect your nails. I usually only polish them if I want to dress up fancy, now. So, it actually does weaken them to keep them polished, and it's not my imagination?

4. I do darker toes too
I almost always have a bold color on my toes and something lighter on my fingers because I type too much to keep my fingernails in top shape. My last mani/pedi was the Chanel dark blue (don't know the name, but everyone has been wearing it this summer) and a light beige for my fingers.

5. I don't match, because manis don't last as long as pedis
at least not for me. Also, my fingernails aren't always polished. I usually go brighter for my toes, too. I don't think there's a set rule that your hands and feet have to match.

9. I always do different colors
lighter on my fingernails: OPI "Hopelessly in Love" (light pink)

and on my toes: OPI "Romeo and Juliet" (looks red in the picture but it's really shimmery brown)

Couldn't find Hopelessly in Love on their website - probably means they discontinued it. I really hate that about OPI!!!

12. Nope....
Toes are always brighter. I try wearing a fingernail polish that's more neutral so they don't clash with the clothes I wear. But, only cause I work in a professional atmosphere and have to.

13. I never match -- I can't due to the old J-O-B but, I wouldn't do it
even if I could...

I like to have happy toes and subdued yet, sophisticated nails. That way my jewelry stands out that much more.

like anyone is even looking or gives a shit x( :D :hi:

14. I do the same
I like to get some funky color like bright green or blue on my toenails, but something very neutral on my fingernails.

15. I don't usually match
I don't wear red that often. Usually french on my fingernails and some shade of pink on my toes. I have a hang up about my fingernails matching my clothes like if my nails are red I won't wear a pink sweater. Often I do my own nails.

16. No, I never match.
I tend to prefer natural coloring on fingers. Either no polish or else "French".

Toes I like something bright and fun because if my toes are showing, I'm probably doing something recreational.

17. It depends - I usually choose a bright color (pinks) for the toes
and then sometimes I'll match, or sometimes I'll do a sheer pink. I HATE to see chipped nails, which is one reason I don't often wear bright colors on my fingernails -- a sheer pink doesn't show chipping. I'll change my polish instantly if possible if there's a chip...but if I have to wait thru the day, then at least I don't feel like my fingers look tacky.

I have a question about that Chanel pink - it is BEAUTIFUL. Is it sheer, or is the color that intense after two coats? If the color is that intense, I want it.

18. rarely paint my nails, as the polish won't stay on!
I can only get polish to stay on my nails for about 24 hours before it starts cracking and chipping...something about too much oil in the nail bed! thats what a manicurist told me many years ago...don't know if it is true or not!

I like a medium dark fuschia-red type color for my toes...tho a few years ago my sister and I were painting our toe nails a variety of different fun colors all summer long: cantalope, watermelon, honeydew, sunflower, etc

19. When is someone going to get smart and come out with a buffing
compound in colors? I love the shine, and would love to stain my nails rather than paint them.
