Why are some people so bad at taking my money?!
I was going to rent an apartment, and the guy who works for the rental agency I rent from now was going to get me a discount of a certain amount off of the asking price. When I told him I wanted the place, he sent me the documents to fill out for it, and it was for a higher price than he'd quoted me, so I told him that I couldn't afford it. In the meantime I agreed to take some other place that's not as nice, but under my budget, which means I can have more disposable income. So tonight I get an email from my current rental agency guy that they could rent me the apartment at the lower price. What kind of crap is that? A week ago I would have filled out a lease for that exact price and now they'd have money. Instead they get nothing and probably have to have the place sit empty for a few months. Way to go, shitheads. It makes me want to ram my head against a brick wall (especially since I still do want that apartment, but now won't take it on principle).

As an aside, am I crazy for renting a house without a proper kitchen? It's got a nice sink, but no oven, and just a portable hot plate/electric burner thing instead of a built in stove. I sort of think it sucks, but I've also never used more than two burners on the stove at once, and while I think about making things like lasagna, I never actually do.

1. Yes You will miss the stove. It's like so many things in life
you don't need them till they leave you.

2. I've lived in a place without one before, and it was ok
I'm afraid that I may be spoiled now though with what I've got. I can imagine missing the oven more... will see what I can fit in the toaster oven, and what I can cook with it.
