3. Aw, Cards had first and third with one out
in the bottom of the ninth, but couldn't quite bring it home.

Another nail-biter for LaRussa.

6. eh, it's just one game.
The Cards are doing better than I thought they would this year. They're having a spate of injuries at the moment. If you'd told me they'd be 3 games out (or so) on June 13, I'd have taken that.

7. That's part of the beauty of baseball
At this point in the season, you blow one, you've still got about 95 left to make up for it.

It just ended. The Phillies held on to win.

8. Meh, it happens
Now, if St. Louis would've come back to tie it... :D

In other news, Omar Vizquel stole home tonight against the Vowels.

Not a delayed steal, not on the front end of a double steal. Straight steal. Got a walking lead and then... choom!

But then, he is only 41.

:D

10. dang arrogant youth
sauntering casually toward home plate, knowing that if the opposing team notices, they'll be able cover the remaining distance in a flash. :grr:

Good for him! :applause:

Did you ever see the film Stealing Home? Mark Harmon and Joide Foster.

9. Not every day some team gets 10 times as many runs as their opponent
Especially when the losers score two runs :)
