It makes turning my head painful shoots up all the way to the back of my head!
I've been treating it with hot towels all night and polling asprin. It's helping a bit.

warm up the muscle and relax it. Have someone poke around on your upper back to see if there is a knot in the muscle between your shoulder blades and your spine. Deep pressure on those knots can work wonders, and that is where the cream or patch should go.
and keep up the aspirin
