I believe he was diabetic, which complicated things.

And I found out about his death before anyone else on DU, believe it or not.

I had been emailing him about some possible work, and his sister found my email, and sent me the news.

So, I started the thread that announced it.

Even Skinner participated.

It was truly a very sad day, and I was very new here; hadn't even found the Lounge yet...

starting his new business, and he was SO damn enthusiastic about that business, then BOOM! He was gone. Just like that.

My grandpa had to deal with a nasty staph infection recently, he barely made it. They're no laughing matter these days, with some of 'em becoming resistant to antibiotics.

21. You are very lucky, staph is horrible

my assistant lost her dad and then her mother within 6 weeks of one another because the hospital didn't know HE had a staph infection, then he died and the mother still had it without knowing it. Scary shit!!
