She's been diagnosed with cancer. Doctor's appointment and CT-scan tomorrow morning, consult with surgeon tomorrow afternoon.
We're keeping our fingers crossed...

How old is she? My friend's eight year old has been fighting cancer for over a year now.

She had to be hospitalized overnight, so she missed most of the convention, but ginbarn was able to make it for a while (crispini saw her on Saturday afternoon).

Keep her strong and fighting. My sister died, I think partly because she gave up. But I know a woman with a brain tumour who was told she only had a few months, maybe weeks, to live. Several years later, she's still going great - she refused to give in or let it get her down.
Hoping the best for your niece!
