I just bought a new MacBook
I'm replacing my 3 1/2 year old iBook G4, even though there really wasn't anything wrong with it, except that it was outdated.

I love my new baby. The screen is SO BRIGHT and clear! Ahhhhh, Macs. :D

I even got a FREE 8 GB iPod Touch. Niiiiiice. Though now I have 2 iPods and an iPhone (which has an iPod in it).

I should probably sell one of the iPods, eh? Ah well, I loves it!

1. Congrats!!!!
I was using a 12inch iBook g4 before I upgraded to the Macbook Pro and man was it a difference.

I think the new Macbook and Macbook Pro are by far the coolest laptops out there.

4. Thanks!
I really, really wanted the MacBook Pro, but I couldn't quite stomach the pricetag.

That computer is SO nice though. I almost gave in! Especially for the touchpad on the mouse.

*sigh*

Ah well...maybe in 3 years! ;)

7. I hear ya
they are expensive. What did it for me was 1) student pricing and 2) When bought at the University of Michigan Apple store, it came with FREE applecare.

The total savings of those two things was about 500 bucks, so I could not pass it up.

8. Oh god yeah...
if I could have gotten AppleCare free, I would have considered it! I do have University pricing, so my MacBook was about $100 cheaper and the AppleCare was $66 cheaper...which is better than nothing.

the Macbooks are great though, they are all the computer most people need.

A link for all your future Apple product purchases...

if I had known about this at the time, I would have bought here, paid for Apple Care and STILL paid less.

Right here is a Macbook pro for $1,599.00

have been updated a few times already, this is a generation old.

Other than that, brand new and in perfect shape, fully warranted and everything.

2. Glad to hear...
as an Apple shareholder, I love these stores. Oh, and I love our MacBook Pro, too! My husband and I fight over who gets to use it, though! :hi:

5. Glad to help your stock!
I have Apple everything. I thought about getting a Sony Vaio for about 5 minutes earlier today, just because they're far cheaper.

But I refuse to deal with Vista. And I can't give up my Genius Bar.

Not to mention my hatred of all things Microsoft...

So a MacBook it was!

3. *envy* That's awesome!
One of my English teachers this past semester had a Macbook that she brought to class every day. I loved that thing.

6. It is a VERY nice computer
My iBook is essentially the same, just 3 years older and with a different name.

I love it too, it's just too slow and there's not enough space on the hard drive.

But I've beaten it up and I've never had a problem with it. So now it will get a new home at work while the new one stays here.

14. It rocks, doesn't it?
Mr. MG got me one for Mother's Day, and I LOVE it. I can't believe I suffered through being chained to my desk with my slow-moving iBoob for so long. (It was nice in its day, but doesn't have the oomph even to stream videos without all sorts of herky-jerky stopping and starting.)

Enjoy! :hi:

15. Thanks!
I'm replacing a 3 1/2 year old version of the same computer, and while the old one didn't have anything wrong with it...the new one is like lightning!!

And the hard drive is ridiculously large. :D
