some good vibes for my dad please.....
So I called my dad to wish him a happy father's day this morning, and my stepmonster (she really is one) told me he was out and would call me back.

When I heard from him about three hours later, he told me he had just been released from the cardiac unit where he spent the night because of "pain". He did not elaborate :banghead: and no one thought to call me when he was admitted :nuke::nuke:

This is not the first time, rather one in a series of times where my dad is in the hospital and my stepmother nor my half-brother think I deserve to know. :wtf:

My dad has had three heart attacks, a quadruple bypass and lives under a tremendous amount of stress - mostly a result of the two jerks he has to deal with regularly.:mad:

So if you have some good lounge mojo to spare - he is no longer in the hospital, but obviously, they felt the need to admit him and keep him overnight for observation - please send him some sweet lounge goodness to help him feel better.

Thanks DU - and Happy Father's day to the DU dads....

~mb

My very best Lounge vibes for your beloved dad...

And a huge kick in the ass for those OTHER two idiots!

9. I have been talking to my dad's sister and she
said she only knew because dad called her last night as he was getting admitted.

I asked her to please call me if anything were to happen as the two jerks don't think I deserve to know - and she said she thought I knew, and apologized profusely. I guess the Tim Russert thing kind of weighs heavily since he died so suddenly - and no one would have expected that. What if something had happened to my dad?

Thanks CalPeg for you kind words, as always.

Good Karma to your dad. It's too bad that he has such assholes around him, but with you there, he will be all right.

11. thanks bluzmann57 .
Poor dad deserves to be surrounded by better humans - we always joke that I turned out "okay" because I didn't live with them (my stepmother and their child). I actually believe it is the truth ;)

12. I don't see any healing between my so-called brother and me

He has consistently treated me worse than I would treat an enemy, so I don't see any good coming from there. Mr MB has said he feels that once my father is gone (may it be many years from now) that my brother and I will have no reason to EVER see each other again.

Thanks for the hugs :hug::grouphug::hug:

24. That is what really frosted my @$$...
And this is not the first time they have failed to tell me.

I am pretty convinced that if my stepmother could get him in the ground before telling me about his death, she would.

She is such an evil woman. :nuke:

16. Good vibes for your dad (and you)
I remember when Mom's cancer got into her femur, and her leg snapped as she walked into the hospital for her chemo. My brother, late sister and sister-in-law all thought it very unnecessary to let me know. I found out when I called the hospital from work to see what time I could go visit. I was just beside myself. I was also not consulted when a week before her death she started having rectal bleeding and they deemed it necessary to give her another colonoscopy. I thought, "The poor woman is obviously dying and has been through enough!" and told them not to do it. But no one listened to me, and the procedure was performed.

It makes me so angry when family members are so selfish.

that is the conclusion I have come to...

I'm sorry your Mom had to go through all of that - people really are selfish.

18. Good vibes for your dad
Having worked in hospitals, I know he probably didn't get much rest: but at least he had a break from the two jerks.

Sorry they're putting you and your dad through this.

a permanent one. Apparently he went to his office after being released because the thought of going home was too horrible. What a sad existence my poor dad has

I don't know if this will be any consolation but cardiology has made a lot of advances even in the past couple years so despite your dad's history if he has good care he could have many, many years ahead of him. for you

and now says that if there is anything I NEED to know, he will call me himself :banghead:

Unfortunately, I worry about the situation where he won't be able to call me and I know they won't.
