It doesn't stand up to repeated watchings for me, it's just too over the top.

Same goes for Idiocracy. The premise is great, and I enjoyed the first showing, but notsomuch the following viewings. I'd rather watch Jackass 2 again.

19. Why? I've been circling it at the rental store, and I don't think
I want to see it -- decided a loooong time ago that I don't want to know any more than I already do about the depths of human cruelty.

You don't have to give details - just wondering if I'm right to avoid it....

23. I've heard great things about it, including Forrest Whitaker's
performance, but - is there torture? Cruelty to animals? If so, I have no desire to have those images imprinted on "my beautiful mind" Ha ha. But I *know* these things happen, I just try to avoid visualizing them so I can sleep at night.

26. It's brilliantly acted.
There's a really horrible torture scene. Still, if you don't have any issues that would make that unusually difficult, it's probably one of the best movies you'll ever see, and worth it.

Absolutely riveting. A masterpiece of a film, even if it is a paean to National Socialism. Everyone should see it, both for its artistic quality and as an object lesson as to what can happen when people cease to think.

48. That movie is the sole reason I didn't get a diamond for my engagement ring.
After watching that movie, I did some research and realized there was NO way to ensure that my potential diamond wasn't a conflict diamond. I didn't want to be a part of that bloody business, so when I knew my now-husband was going to propose, I let it be know that I wanted anything BUT a diamond.

I love my pink sapphire engagement ring. :)
