Well, I survived. Albeit just barely. |
|
TM graduated Friday night. The ceremony was actually pretty nice, well as nice as it could be being held in a sports arena. :eyes: Mr. Midlo was the only one suited up who wasn't in the ceremony.
When BoyMidlo graduates I'm bringing in a cowbell and an airhorn. I don't like being trumped.
Anyhoo. I survived the
1. SIL who kept turning the A/C up to 80 and turning off the A/C in my office. Even AFTER I told her that the A/C in said office needed to be running because when it reached 100 during the day, my office gets the afternoon sun and I cook. Additionally, she kept wanting to turn off the A/C in my car and open the windows. In her quest to do so, she broke the window on the passenger side.
2. SIL who hovered like an annoying mosquito. 'Nuf said.
3. Grilling for six hours in the heat on Saturday as folks came and went.
It was a great time, but I got so dehydrated on Saturday, I slept most of yesterday.
Two years to go and it's BoyMidlo's turn. I'm hiring a caterer.

SIL not listening to you and turning off your A/C?
Or, the help rearranging your furniture without your permission?

Do not make me unnecessarily hot in the summer. God created air conditioning for a reason.
Glad you survived--I bet it was great. :hi:
Has she decided where to go to school yet?

Plus, it's fucking VIRGINIA. It gets HOT HERE!!!!!!
She's decided on Christopher Newport. No amount of coaxing could get her to go to NYU. Maybe next year.

I used to live in DC, and I remember it well. (that smiley isn't blushing, it's just really, really hot)
Well, at least she was in a position to have lots of good schools to choose from, and that's impressive. If she's happy at Christopher Newport, then all is good.

27. It's going to be a little odd. |
|
Because academically, she should be somewhere else, but as far as the performing arts go, the woman in charge of the program really, really wanted her and promised her all kinds of stuff in terms of performance.
So, we'll see. I told her she's not locked into anything at this stage of her life.

21. Yeah. I figured with the A/C set at 80 by SIL, I didn't have |
|
too much to lose.
Only about 15 pounds. Last night, I felt so crappy I was seriously thinking about going to the ER to get IV fluids.

|
We went through 10 cases of bottled water and 6 jugs of iced tea.
A lot of beer, though. I was surprised at how little was left yesterday.
