[Dr. Strange]

When My Heart Upon is Stomped

In her passions, she throws her fit,
Her anger burns through the oven mitt,
And I, as by a vampire bit,
Wonder, What? What is this garbage?

My passions squandered by this luck,
Under the pillow does it tuck,
Until it’s swallow’d by the muck,
And I scream, “What the frack?!”

I fear that she has become an itch,
That I can’t ignore, for that is which
Has left my heart drown’d in yon ditch,
Til’ I scream, “You are such a meanie!”


Oh yeah, now I remember why I don't do poetry threads. :blush:

Sorry if there's no humor in this one - I haven't been feeling too sardonic these days.

I thought I had found the love of my life
I thought that he felt the same
He gave me hope, He gave me joy
Just in the way he said my name

I woke up every morning with newfound excitement
Looking forward to what each day would bring
He never failed to amaze me with his expressions of love
In his letters, his emails, or when he made my phone ring

I never experienced feelings so strong
Before he found his way into my heart
Just when I vowed to give up on love
He handed me a brand new start

And so it went on, for weeks and months
A dream that I never wanted to end
Finally feeling what I thought I never would
I couldn't fathom life without love again

But it seems that the gods had other plans
For how my life story would play
There was no warning, there was no clue
That our love would be taken away

So now I ask, what did I do?
There has to be something that I missed
Surely there must be a wrong that I've done
That would warrant a punishment like this?

As much as I try, I can't figure out
How to forget the one true love I've known
But even harder to accept is that old road I must take
That sends me back to being on my own.

Must be something in the air..I found myself composing a poem of sorts lately..blank verse so don't look for a rhyme here.

The ribbons of love of are thin but precious
Ephemeral, like leaves in the wind.
The chains of obligation are heavy and thick
and weigh the soul down.
