You can do something really stupid to a cat and they'll still love you to death!! |
|
Yesterday I was closing my windows to turn on the AC.
As I was closing the one window Abbott jumped up on the radiator and was wagging his tail as usual.
Course his tail was in the wrong place as the window came slamming down.
It happened so quickly I didn't know.
4 hours later he comes out of hiding and snuggles with me. How in god's name do cats do that? BTW, his tail is fine, it just got pinched.

2. My three cats have all been stepped on. |
|
They have a habit of congregating at my feet and they've all had their tails or paws stepped on at least once (by accident, of course). But they always forgive me. I think they know when something is an accident.

3. Isn't it amazing how forgiving they are? |

I've accidently closed grandkitty's head in the bathroom door and about a week later, caught his head between my feet as I was walking. After that, I had a very serious talk with him about his taking his life in his paws by running between a fat woman's walking feet(shall we say flat cat?) and his attempts to beat me to the bathroom.
We also have regular discussions of the dangers when I'm in the upright freezer part of the fridge and he insists on looking to see if there is anything in there for him.
He never listens to me.
I'm glad your kitty's tail is ok.

4. well Abbott just wanted to give me a kiss |

And the Radiator is a perfect position for him getting a kitty-kiss.

You must have one of those taller radiators? We have 4 tall ones and the rest are shorter..more like knee height. Grandkitty uses the tall one by the front door for his kitty kisses.
We'd be in real trouble if our kittys held grudges for our mistakes.

I picked up our cat Max and he bit my nose. Massive scar. And Bo didn't like me wearing glasses so she'd slap them off.
But otherwise they were very affectionate. Who knows what cats think?

7. My cat always hates me |
|
for a few hours after getting kicked in the night. He's as dark as a shadow at midnight: If he were black you could actually see him better. He's a Russian Blue, big as a puma, but after sunset he's invisible and probably asleep in your path.
On the other hand he lets me use him as a pillow!!

8. Similarly, you can do something really nice for a cat |
|
And they'll still barely tolerate you.

9. My kitty loved doing (assisted) backflips. |
|
Spectacular form and landing.
And I wouldn't see him for about a half an hour.
